Recce of Locations

FILM MAGAZINE

Photo Studio

In my opinion, I find this particular location very efficient for my Photoshoot because it has a high standard of lighting equipment that will make my image high resolution. However, it does consist of electrical wires and plugs that could be damaged by food or drink so I will have to be very safe and eliminate any food in the studio.

The studio also has a blank background that I can use for a clear image on my magazine cover. Although the background is black here, it can easily be changed to white paper so that is an advantage for me. However, the space is very confined and can easily become cramped so I will have to make sure that none of the equipment is knocked or damaged.

FILM POSTER

Woodhouse Lane: Outside My House

This area of my front garden is very safe and has know danger hazards because it is blocked from the path in case of a car, and also far away from the road too. The only danger I would highlight is the type of bushes, but it is unlikely my actors would get hurt from them as the photoshoot takes place in and on top of the car.

FILM TRAILER

Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College: Common Room & Corridor

The common room is a very good location to use for my film trailer because it depicts the student life and can be associated with my target audience's interests and the education system of modern Britain. It already has strong lighting and ambient sounds that suggest the type of noises my target audience would hear at college or school. However, the noise can become overwhelming and other students can potentially destroy shots by walking into them and breaking the 4th wall.

The corridor is an excellent representation of the school/college atmosphere as it depicts different class rooms and similar doors my target audience could relate too because there schools/colleges will appear similar. The lighting is very good as it is natural, and it is a good place to set up various shots. However, sometimes the light can become overwhelming and ruin the shot for being too bright. Furthermore, similar to the common room, other students could ruin the shot if they broke the 4th wall by acknowledging the camera during the filming.

Woodhouse Lane: Outside My House

The outside of my house precisely captures the working class lifestyle and is a good location for depicting my characters habitat. The location is 100% safe because it belongs to my family. Furthermore, none of these locations are dangerous or harmful to my actors so I have chosen it for these reasons.

Hamsterly Forest

Hamsterly Forest is a very reliable area for filming in isolated areas because in my opinion it feels safe and is a place full of family values. Therefore, I wouldn't feel any anxiety against threatening groups of people. However, there are a lot of factors that could be harmful. For example, the about of branches could trip over my actors and hurt them. Overall though, I feel the area is very rural so my actors shouldn't be in a any danger.
