Stage 1 - Creating Project

Firstly, I creating a 'New Project' in Final Cut Express by pressing 'File' and then 'New Project'.

Stage 2 - Resetting Scratch Disks

After that, I re-set the 'Scratch Disks' to the appropriate folder so that my footage was safe and easy to access for future purposes.

Stage 3 - Easy Setup (DV-PAL)

To use 'Easy Setup', I clicked on 'Final Cut Express' at the top left of the program and pressed 'Easy Setup'.

Once pressing 'Easy Setup', the icon called 'Easy Setup' came up and I changed the 'Use' to 'DV-PAL'.

Stage 4 - Capturing Footage

To capture my footage from the DV tape I pressed 'File' and then 'Capture'.

This opened up the option of capturing my footage from the camera with options in the bottom right saying; 'Clip', 'Now' and 'Project'. I pressed on 'Now' to begin the capturing.

HEre you can see the footage off the camera is being recorded as a video file in Final Cut Express. Once finished, it will be ready to edit.

Stage 5 - Editing Footage

To edit my shots, I clicked on the part of the footage I wanted to edit. Then, by using my shooting schedule I was able to see what footage from a certain shot I decided to use. I then marked it with the bracket tool and dragged the shot into my storyline.

Stage 6 - Editing Sound

Whilst editing sound I wanted to copy a piece of ambient sound form a different clip and put it other another. Therefore, I locked the visual footage and copied the sound from by pressing the Apple Key and 'C'.

Here you can see that the copied sound is at the end of the timeline ready to place anywhere I wish.

I placed it underneath the clip that I wanted ambient sound on and used the 'Pen Tool' too transition the sound levels so they flow easily on the timeline and sound pleasant and natural.

Stage 7 - Increasing Speed

To change the speed of a clip I pressed on 'Modify' and then 'Speed'.

This opened up a small icon that said I could change the speed from a 100 to anything I wanted. I decided too double the speed to keep the trailer fast paced and smilier to other comedy film trailers I have researched.

Stage 8 - Exporting Film Trailer

After that, I exported the film trailer by pressing 'File' then 'Export'. This allowed me to export as a 'QuickTime Movie'. Therefore, I did just that.

Here you can see that the film is exporting as a 'QuickTime Movie'.

Finally, during the upload stage on 'Youtube' I pressed the blue 'Upload' option on the top of the page and selected the Film Trailer which is now a 'QuickTime Movie'.
